All that Glitters (and a surprise announcement)

On Friday Nantale and I journeyed down to woodman recreation park for the 2009 Deloitte Camp Quality Disco. Sporting some very cool gold sequined jackets, and some very uncool (and ill fitting) black sequined pants, we came prepared (we hoped) to collect moves from the kids and make a short dance to the ever popular tunes of Michael Jackson. The kids had so much energy and were so willing to participate, it was fantastic. Unfortunately for us we didn't realise we had so many budding break dancers in the group (of 4-12 year olds, I might add) which was fantastic, but not so good for teaching kids! But we got together a routine, which the kids loved. What we didn't know was that three singers who work at Deloitte were going to upstage us in the daggy 80's jazz dance department! Ah well... we had the gold jackets, and I believe that's all that matters.

The Camp Quality people do a fantastic job. They can't really be praised highly enough. This was a wonderful opportunity for us to get dance out there with the people.

.....and now....
the moment you've all been waiting for...
the secret we've been keeping will finally be revealed....

Next week, Anything Is Valid Dance Theatre will take a giant step in terms of getting contemporary dance out there to the people because we will be filming the new Empire Of The Sun video clip for their single "Standing On The Shore". So keep your eyes peeled, and watch out for the swordfish....
