Into the magic garden...

AIVDT journeyed into the magic garden today at Live@Woodside, put together by the wonderful people at steamworks arts productions. The girls donned their sunday best, and presented three new scores for the families at the Woodside gardens. Two of these scores saw AIVDT incorporate more props in the form of umbrellas, which transported the dancers (and provided them with endless entertainment). Also in the vicinity were Spare Parts Puppet Theatre, Gozia Businska, Waapa puppeteers, and a lady on stilts in a fabulous green tree dress. We had fun playing up the characterisation, and playing to the kids, and creating the fabulous umbrella monster (as well as providing some much needed shade in the sweltering heat).

Stay tuned, because in just 2 days, AIVDT goes on the road, first to Mandurah for the Australian Youth Dance Festival, then onto Pinjarra for the Fairbridge Festival.
