2010 news

Hello all!

AIVDT hopes you had a wonderful Christmas and new year. We have hit the ground running in 2010 with notification that stage 2 of UNEXPECTED-microclimates receiving a grant from the Department of Culture and The Arts, Young People and the Arts Panel for a 5 week site specific Development in April/May in the King St Precinct. Quindell Orton, Serena Chalker, Alison Plevey and Jessica Lewis will be working with professionals Sete Tele, Rachel Ogle, Shona Erskine and Jo Pollitt to create four structured improvisational solos.

AIVDT will also be back at the Fairbridge Festival in 2010 From April 9-11. The Fairbridge Festival is an annual family-friendly celebration of folk, roots, blues, acoustic, celtic, a capella and world music in a traffic-free, self-contained bushland site at Fairbridge Village, South West Highway, 5 km north of Pinjarra, Western Australia.

The theme for the 2010 Festival is Crossing Rhythms – musical cross-currents, new spins on ancient traditions with spectacular combinations of live music and dance.

Last two flashmobs!


Hello flashmobbers!

Thank you for your committment and participation in making the AIVDT/City of Perth Xmas Flash mobs such a success! Hold on to your hats, there are two more dates left, and we're hoping they'll be the biggest ones yet!

Friday 18th December
Meet at 5:30 for newcomers (we'll teach you the dance on the day, also for those who need a refresher course) and 6:00 for those who have participated before (this is important because we need to organise who is coming in at what point, as you may have noticed, it tends to change a bit depending on how many participants we have). Please try to bring as many friends/relatives/housemates/work colleagues/randoms that you can, the more the merrier! For those not in the know we meet at the leading dock under forrect place, enter from the stairs behind the stage, opposite the side entrance to Myer. The flashmob times are 6:30pm in Murray St mall and 7pm in Hay St Mall

Sunday 20th December (LAST DAY!)
Meet at 1pm for newcomers and 1:30pm for those who have participated before. Please be on time!, and bring people (we're hoping to go out with a bang. I'd like to have 30-40 people there, so everyone bring at least 1 person with you! flashmob times are 2pm in murray st mall and 3pm in Hay st Mall.

IT"S NOT TOO LATE!

Hi Guys,

It's not too late to get flashmobbing! The next date for the fun is Friday 11th December at 6:30pm and 7pm in the city. Meet me 1 hour before hand to learn the choreography if you haven't come to rehearsal. You can watch the video here

We're going to meet in the loading dock under Forrest Place, enter from the stairs behind the stage, opposite the side entrance to Myer.

And we need to get you all to convince your friends, relatives, flatmates, housemates and work colleagues to get in on the action too!

Then the next date is Sunday 13th December, 12pm and 1pm. (Call time 11am). Email contact@aivdt.com with either "Friday", "Sunday", "Friday and Sunday" or "I can't come but my friends will"
